American spikenard.
(Aralia racemosa) One of the biggest cultivated perennials, native to North America, grows up to 3 ms, forms bushy thickets. Resembles a small tree, but does not form a woody trunk. This plant dies to the ground during winter, but new shoots appear in spring. Has huge, feathery, dark green leaves (circa 75 cm in length). In late spring and early summer blooms profusely (white inflorescences circa 40 cm in length). Afterwards clusters of dark-purple small fruits develop. Likes sun, and moist fertile soil. Resistant to frost, rapid growth.
