Unusual ornamental plant and vegetable! Annual, forms shoots up to 0.5 m high, covered with light green leaves. In the summer forms ornamental purple flowers. Fruit-pods are angular, up to 7 cm long, tasty and fleshy, edible as a vegetable after cooking. Likes sun and fertile soil. Sown in early May in the ground.
