(Cynara cardunculus "Ivory White")
Perennial vegetable with edible, fleshy leaf stems. They can be cooked in soups, salads, casseroles, are very tasty and exquisite dish, popular in France and Italy. Cardoon grows to 80 cm in height, forms a large rosette of ornamental silvery blue feathery leaves. In summer, it forms blue, "fluffy" flowers. Likes sun and moist fertile soil. In colder climates winter protection is necessary.
