Prickly Castor Oil Tree.
(Kalopanax pictus)
Ornamental medium-size tree up to 10 ms in height, with dark green, lobed, glossy leaves (young leaves are edible when cooked). Has an umbrella crown. In late summer blooms profusely (large inflorescences of creamy white flowers). Then black-blue decorative berries appear.
This tree likes partial shade or sun and fertile soil. Frost-hardy.
