(Allium fistulosum "Ishikura")
Japanese variety of onion with very long (up to 25 cm in length) pure white stems, gradually turning green upwards. Can grow in the same spot for 5 years. The entire plant is edible: cylindrical, tender and juicy green stems and the lower, thick and fleshy part of the stem. Excellent for salads and marinades. Likes sun and fertile, permeable soil. Sown from April to August in the ground.
